Each NCL, Inc. Chapter promotes social awareness by considering the local community’s needs and selecting appropriate non-profit organizations to serve.  Each Chapter then supports its philanthropic service partners through different volunteer activities. 

We currently support over 15 philanthropies including:

ARF:  Focus is saving dogs and cats who have run out of time at public shelters and brings people and animals together to enrich each other’s lives. ARF strives to create a world where every loving dog and cat has a home, where every lonely person has a companion animal, and where children learn to care. 

Blue Star Moms:  The Blue Star Moms is a support through service organization in Danville, California. They join together to share support for their sons and daughters currently serving in all branches of the Armed Forces of the United States, and their sons and daughters who are now veterans. NCL, Inc., San Ramon, supports Blue Star Moms through Operation Postcard and donating goods for care packages to our military.

Children’s Emergency Food Bank:  The Children’s Emergency Food Bank is a an-volunteer, local non-profit organization serving Pleasanton, Dublin, San Ramon and Danville since 1966. The Food Bank provides food for families in emergency situations, rather than ongoing support. Their mission is to provide canned and packaged food as well as gift certificates from local markets to obtain fresh foods. Their objective is to give each family enough food for one week, up to six times a year. There is also a Christmas Giveaway each year which includes two large boxes of food and a frozen turkey or two frozen chickens.

City of San Ramon:  The City of San Ramon provides local volunteers for a variety of programs in San Ramon. NCL, Inc., San Ramon, supports the City of San Ramon by volunteering at the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center, Art and Wind Festival, Forest Home Farms Holiday at the Farm, Parks Make Life Better park pick-up days, 4th of July Walk, Bah Humbug Walk and numerous city sponsored San Ramon events.

Contra Costa/Solano Food Bank:  The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano stores and distributes donated and purchased perishable and nonperishable food items. They distribute food directly to low-income people and make food available for other nonprofit organizations serving the ill, needy and children. NCL, Inc., San Ramon, supports the food bank by volunteering at their Concord and Fairfield warehouses packaging fruits, vegetables and non-perishable foods.

Court Appointed Special Advocates:  The Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program recruits, trains, and supports volunteer advocates as a powerful voice for the best interest of abused and neglected children during the court process, in order to help every child ultimately thrive in a safe and permanent home.

Fair Chance for Special Needs:  Fair Chance offers a non-judgmental learning environment where students and young adults with special needs can socialize, learn, have fun and thrive after school hours.

Feral Cat Foundation:  The Feral Cat Foundation (FCF) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization whose primary mission is to help people live with the feral and forgotten cats and kittens in the communities of Alameda and Contra Costa counties. When possible, tame cats and kittens are adopted to loving homes. NCL, Inc., San Ramon, supports the Feral Cat Foundation by volunteering at San Ramon pet stores helping adopt cats to local families. We also make pet blankets.

Foster-A-Dream:  They provide many holiday and other special events and fund sports, cheerleading, music lessons, summer camps, and proms for foster care children. NCL, Inc., San Ramon, supports Foster-A-Dream by hosting a booth at the Winter Wonderland event, and volunteering at Operation Backpack (annual event to sort and organize donated backpacks to get them ready for distribution to foster and homeless youth for school year.), the Dream Thrift Store and other special events. We also make blankets and pillowcases for foster care children.

Friends of the San Ramon Library:  The Library Foundation, an all-volunteer organization, funds cultural, educational, and children’s programs and the library jazz series. NCL, Inc., San Ramon, supports the Friends of the San Ramon Library by volunteering at the quarterly library book sale events.                          

Furry Friends Rescue:  They are an all-volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing, fostering and finding forever homes for companion animals in the San Francisco Bay Area. NCL, Inc., San Ramon supports Furry Friends Rescue by volunteering at pet shops in Fremont to help adopt pets. This requires a 24 hour yearly commitment. We also make pet blankets.

Meals on Wheels:  They enhance the lives of older adults in Contra Costa County who have a full range of needs by providing meals and coordinated care that enables older adults to live independently and with dignity for as long as possible. NCL, Inc., San Ramon, provides birthday cards and senior bags for Meals on Wheels.

My New Red Shoes:  My New Red Shoes helps homeless and low-income children look and feel confident as they start the school year by providing them with the gift of new clothing and shoes. NCL, Inc., San Ramon supports My New Red Shoes by organizing donated shoes for distribution, volunteers at events, makes First Day Cards and sews fabric shoe bags

Open Heart Kitchen:  Open Heart Kitchen has been providing fresh, nutritious meals to anyone in need since 1995. NCL Inc., San Ramon serves seniors meals and packs lunches for seniors and children in the Tri-Valley area.

Shepherd’s Gate:  Shepherd’s Gate provides a safe shelter for homeless women and children from the East Bay area. NCL, Inc., San Ramon, volunteers at Shepherd’s Gate events and at the thrift store.

Special Olympics of Northern California:  Special Olympics of Northern California provides athletic opportunities to children and adults with intellectual disabilities, instilling the confidence they need to succeed in life. NCL, Inc., San Ramon provides day-of-event volunteers at various community sports events and competitions.

UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland Family House and Foundation:  The Family House is a low-cost “home away from home” available to qualifying families who live 70 miles or more from the hospital. The Hospital Foundation provides toys and kits for hospital children, toiletries and food kits at the hospital resource center and funds for projects throughout the hospital.  NCL Inc., San Ramon, supports UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland by providing pancake breakfasts and baked goods at the Family House, and baked goods, craft kits, toiletries and emergency kits to the hospital resource center.           

Villa San Ramon:  Villa San Ramon is a local senior living community in South San Ramon. NCL, Inc., San Ramon, volunteers at Villa San Ramon events like spa days, talent shows, dances and crafts.

White Pony Express:  Supports the cause to eliminate hunger and poverty in the Contra Costa County by delivering food, clothing, toys and books to those in need.
